Case study - QSuper
Our client
- QSuper is the super fund for people working for Queensland Government, and also has an increasing number of members who have a private sector employer contributing on their behalf. Their goal is to work hand in hand with their members to help them grow their super.
The brief
- To understand retirement calculator features that appealed to their members to achieve the most desirable user experience for QSuper's new retirement income calculator.
- To help QSuper refresh their home page and information architecture to improve the user experience.
What we did
- Conducted comparative usability testing of 5 different superannuation calculators.
- Conducted usability testing of QSuper's existing site to understand member needs and behaviours, and identify priority areas.
- Participated in design workshops as usability experts.
- Facilitated card sorting sessions with members to understand how they would categorise information and content on the site.
- Designed, usability tested and iterated a new information architecture for the site.
- Facilitated collaborative design home page and IA workshops with key stakeholders.
- Conducted usability testing of website and calculator prototypes.
- Conducted usability testing of the final website prior to launch.
The outcome
- The redesigned site and new retirement income calculator went live in August 2011.
Getting our members' input was vital for a successful design.
