Tania Lang - Principal
User Centred Designer, Usability Specialist & Trainer

Tania Lang

Tania Lang is the principal of Peak Usability as well as a member of the Usability Professionals' Association, Australian Web Industry Association and the Queensland State Representative for CHISIG in Australia. She is considered one of the leaders in her field and is passionate about usability. She has organised numerous local usability and HCI events to increase awareness and adoption of good usability and user centred design practices.

Tania has been working in the online space as a usability practitioner and user experience consultant for a number of high profile clients for over 12 years. In that time she has worked on online projects for Telstra, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, Suncorp, Flight Centre, iiNet, RACQ, go via, QSuper and numerous Commonwealth, state and local government agencies. She has experience working on websites, intranets, web applications and more recently, mobile web.

Tania is also a highly regarded and experienced trainer having delivered usability training to over 500 participants both in Australia and overseas and is a regular presenter at conferences and seminars.

She has a Masters of Business by Research which involved researching how travel consumers use the Internet. She also has a Graduate Certificate in Human Factors, a Graduate Diploma in Arts (including Marketing) and a Bachelor of Science.

David Humphreys - Senior Consultant
Usability Specialist

David Humphreys

David is a user centred design / usability consultant employed with Peak Usability since May 2007. David developed a passion and interest for user centred design while working in a variety or online roles at the Department of Primary Industries & Fisheries from January 2001. Since then it has been an ongoing journey for him to improve his professional knowledge in interaction design, usability, user experience and project management.

He has led or been involved in dozens of projects while at Peak Usability and has developed a strong and deep interest and expertise in intranets, university websites and information architecture in general. He has conducted 100s of individual usability test sessions for many clients and this has given him a very good sense of how users behave on websites and where many designs fail or succeed.

David remains committed to working closely with his client partners and sharing his knowledge and expertise. He has conducted usability testing and reviews of many sites including Australian Catholic University, QUT, the Ergon Energy intranet, Brisbane City Council and ourbrisbane.com.au. David has a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) and continues to focus on self-improvement by attending conferences and reading whatever he can get his hands on.

Lyndall Plumb - Senior Consultant
Usability specialist

Lyndall Plumb

Lyndall is a highly experienced and enthusiastic usability professional who consistently delivers results in a variety of industries, by ensuring that customer experience is at the forefront of the design process. She has a strong understanding of brand management and company positioning on the internet.

Specific skills include user and business research, interaction design, usability reviews, project and budget management, as well as a high level of communication and presentation skills. While at Peak, she has conducted hundreds of usability testing sessions,as well as focus groups, card sorting sessions and IA testing sessions, to help develop/refine IAs and designs that will work for our clients' customers.

Lyndall has extensive experience working as a usability and online specialist for the private sector, including 3 years at Suncorp as a senior user centred designer. She is very experienced in working with business stakeholders to help them achieve their business objectives in the online space.

She also spent 18 months at Energex, where she was responsible for the corporate and kids' websites, and development and implementation of Energex's communication strategy for the internet.

She has a Bachelor of Business (Man), a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) Parallel Degrees and a Graduate Certificate of Applied Law. 

Amber Dean - Senior Consultant
User researcher

Amber has many years experience in market research and information management. This experience has been built up through over 10 years in the market research industry (in Australia & Europe). Most recently Amber has worked as a senior consultant for global research firm TNS. As part of this role, she was responsible for information management (utilising Sharepoint) for the global international research division. Prior to that, Amber worked in various senior roles for Synovate, ACNielsen and OmniCom Research. During this time she was responsible for leading many qualitative and quantitative research projects, including project management, research and analysis, client management and presentations. Since joining Peak Usability, she has worked on projects for clients including RACQ, Flight Centre, Office of State Revenue, Suncorp, QInvest, goVia, IAG Mobile and QUT Library.

Amber has post-graduate studies in Information Science (Graduate Diploma of Applied Science - Library & Information Management). She also has a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours in Organisational Psychology) and a Graduate Certificate in Marketing. Amber is a member of the Australian and Library Information Association (ALIA) and in 2011 received an ALIA Student Award for the most outstanding student with the highest GPA.

Miranda Wee - Senior Consultant

Miranda Wee

Miranda is an experienced usability practitioner and content writer. Her passion for user experience methodologies began while completing a Bachelor of Multimedia at Griffith University and her skills were honed during her 4 years with the Department of Education and Training where she worked on several projects that allowed her to develop her skills further, including being on the design and content writing team for the Learning Place website. In 2010 she started at Peak Usability and continues to develop and hone her skills, expand her understanding of the theories behind usability and put these theories to practice.

Miranda enjoys working to a high quality standard, and has specific skills and experience in interaction design, content writing, user research, persona and context scenario development, card sorting, information architecture, wire framing, usability testing and evaluation, paper-based and electronic prototyping and finished quality user interface design.

Miranda has conducted usability testing and design of a number of sites including the Learning Place, Library Services (DET), Logan City Council, DET Education website, Tourism Queensland, Endeavour Foundation, Heritage Building Society, Queensland Motorways (Go Via) and Workplace Health & Safety QLD.

Miranda has a Bachelor of Multimedia and an Advanced Diploma of Information Technology.

Clarissa Keil - Senior Consultant
Usability specialist

Clarissa is a digital expert with over 11 years of digital experience in Australia and the United Kingdom. Her past experience at AXA Investment Managers, Westpac Banking Corporation, BT Financial Group and Sunsuper has focussed on developing and implementing strategies to optimise the customer experience and maximise the return of digital channels. She has project managed many large digital projects and is adept at engaging key stakeholders, as well as coaching and developing her teams to achieve excellent outcomes.

Clarissa's key skills include leading the design and creation of usable, useful and engaging user experiences. She has conducted many card sorts, usability tests, heuristic reviews and competitor benchmarking studies to develop the information architecture and user interfaces for a number of high profile transactional and public websites in the financial services industry.

She's also an adept digital marketer with a history of great results in email marketing, Search Engine Optimisation, Search Engine Marketing and Social Media Marketing.

Clarissa's qualifications include a Bachelor of Business (Marketing), Master of Diplomacy and Trade and a Graduate Certificate in Journalism. 

Jane Woodley
e-Commerce specialist and user analyst

Jane Woodley

Jane's core skill is working with clients to identify how to make their online presence work better to generate leads and sales and achieve business goals. Strategy, web writing, marketing, user analysis and project management are Jane's key areas of expertise.

She also researches and writes online marketing and business strategies, using the web, social media, online advertising and email marketing. Using research from a range of online tools, site analytics, and customer information, she produces strategies to suit your customer profiles, timeframe, and budget.

Recent projects Jane has managed include large-scale website refreshes for senior corporations, small functionality improvements, internal site search implementation, SEO improvements and site analytics implementation. She has experience in a range of industries, covering Online and Traditional Media, the Arts, Travel, Education, Internet Services and Government.

Her experience and employment history includes the position of Website Specialist in the eCommerce team at Virgin Blue (3yrs), Online Marketing Strategist at ourbrisbane.com in addition to various senior management positions for the past 15 years.

Her qualifications include a Master of Business Administration (MBA) for which she won the Dean's Award for Outstanding Achievement (2001). She is also currently a Digital Marketing tutor at Australian Direct Marketing Association.

Vicki Conlon - Accounts Payable

Vicki Conlon

Vicki is our accounts person and MYOB extraordinaire and is responsible for accounts payable including invoicing, payment receipting and payroll.
